Value of B2C and B2B e-commerce
E-commerce is projected to have a significant impact on national and global economies via the delivery of process efficiencies and reductions in operating costs, and while estimated to be in the hundred of billions of dollars US globally, is still insignificant in terms of the total output of many national economies. B2C as a % of GDP - 2001
The level of Business-to-Consumer (B2C) activity as a proportion of annual GDP provides a measure of the economic significance of electronic commerce within the economy at large. Data for New Zealand for this indicator was not available.
Accordingly, the US scored 100 points, followed by Sweden (71), Norway (55), the UK (43), Germany (32), and Australia (24). Ireland received the lowest score (3).
