Project profiles - round 6
The projects funded in Round 6 cover a range of regional and national initiatives. Many of the projects have a specific focus on small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
Webmail Information Network for Travel Agents
This proposal by the Co-operative Research Centre (CRC) for Sustainable Tourism has been developed in conjunction with Data#3 Limited and AFTA (the Australian Federation of Travel Agents). AFTA is the peak industry body representing the interests of retail travel agents in Australia. Its membership is comprised of some 3,000 travel agents (the majority of Travel Agents in Australia). The webmail project is a B2B online information distribution and management system for the tourism and travel Industry. This system is intended to provide travel agents with an economical, effective and industry-wide alternative to the current chaotic system of faxes, mail and email that is acknowledged to be costly, time-consuming and of doubtful and varying effectiveness.

Creating the mobile E-solution for 21st century plumbers
The Master Plumbers' and Mechanical Services Association of Australia proposed proof of concept project will enable 20 Australian small-to-medium size enterprises (SMEs) plumbing businesses to have mobility of access to the Internet. Invoicing and Transactions Innovations for Small and Medium Enterprises
