To raise awareness of IT and cyber security issues for practitioners of SCADA and other industrial control systems, the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts (DCITA), through its role in the Australian Government’s Trusted Information Sharing Network (TISN) and the IT Security Expert Advisory Group (ITSEAG), has organised a series of free SCADA security practitioner workshops.
These will be held in five capital cities ( Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide) between 4 June and 14 June 2007.
The purpose of the practitioner workshops is to transfer information and skills on advanced cyber security from Australia’s international partners in critical infrastructure. Information will include resources acquired from the 2007 International SCADA Cyber Security Advanced Training Workshop being held at the Idaho National Laboratories in late April 2007.
The Australian SCADA security practitioner workshops will include guest presenters from the National Cyber Security Division of the United States Department of Homeland Security, as well as domestic industry practitioners.
The workshops will also include a vulnerability demonstration and scenario analysis.
For SCADA practitioners on cyber security in June 2007. Learn about emerging threats to industrial control systems and how to treat them. Hear from international and domestic experts on the latest cyber security strategies. Includes vulnerability and scenario demonstrations.
