Acknowledgements for approved/registered providers

Broadband Connect providers are required to acknowledge Australian Government funding support in all promotional and marketing activities. All such material is to be approved by DCITA prior to its release.

Requests should be submitted to DCITA (contact DCITA on 1800 883 488 or bcproviders@dcita.gov.au) in a timely manner to ensure approval by the date required. DCITA will consider both corporate style and Broadband Connect factual accuracy as part of the approval process.

Previously approved material which is being amended will also need to be submitted to DCITA. In these circumstances, an indication of the changes proposed will speed up the approval process.

The table below outlines the acknowledgment requirements for some anticipated activities. Further information is in section 4.14 of the Broadband Connect Guidelines.

Promotional activity Acknowledgement required
Radio advertising, including live reads Include the words "This offer is made possible in regional Australia with support from the Australian Government's Broadband Connect program" following the main advertising message.
Print advertising or other product promotional material Broadband Connect providers need to use the Broadband Connect logo on publicity material, maintaining all requirements of Australian Government branding. Broadband Connect logos are available here.

Guidelines on the use of Australian Government logos is available from This link sends you off DCITA's websitewww.dcita.gov.au/logo/ or on request from DCITA Corporate Communications. Note that the Crest must be no smaller than 2cm across and no other logo should be more prominent.

Confirmation and advice to Broadband Connect customers Providers must write (by post or email) to each Broadband Connect Customer at the commencement of a Service to that Customer, confirming the specific terms and conditions that the Provider has included in its contract with the Customer. The text of the letter or email must be approved by DCITA and comply with the requirements in section 4.14.1 of the Broadband Connect Guidelines.
Media releases All releases to include the words "This offer is made possible in regional Australia with support from the Australian Government's Broadband Connect program" as appropriate within the body of the release.
