Implementation reference committee
Major Performing Arts Inquiry
At its meeting in August 2000 CMC agreed to establish a implementation reference committee for an initial twelve month period to monitor the implementation of the Major Performing Arts Inquiry CMC-agreed recommendations. The purpose of the Implementation Reference Committee (IRC) is to provide a forum for an exchange of views between stakeholders and to perform a monitoring role.
The Committee comprises representatives of the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts (Chair), the Australia Council, a State representative and a representative of the Major Performing Arts Board.
At its May 2002 meeting CMC agreed that the Implementation Reference Committee should continue its role for a further 12 months-providing a valuable vehicle for communication between the major performing arts sector, State and Commonwealth funding agencies. Subsequently, in March 2003 CMC agreed to continue the Implementation reference Committee for another 12 months.
