Performing Arts Touring Working Group
At CMC in Hobart on 28 March 2003, Ministers agreed there would be benefit in consideration of national performing arts touring issues, based on input from the Australian, State and Territory governments.
State and Territory arts ministries subsequently provided information to the CMC Secretariat on the scope of their touring programs.
In October 2003, CMC Standing Committee agreed to establish a working group to develop a paper on performing arts touring or the Ministers' meeting in February 2004. Memberships of the Working Group was agreed as the Commonwealth; Victoria; Queensland and Western Australia.
The Working Group's paper was provided to CMC members and at the CMC meeting in February 2004 it was agreed to fund a two-stage consultancy to examine a range of issues relating to current government support for performing arts touring across all jurisdictions and develop a consistent framework for governments to consider their future support of performing arts touring.
